Wood Burning Stoves: Austraflamm

Wood burned should be replaced by trees. This will mean that there is not an increase in the amount of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere.

Trees grow and absorb Carbon Dioxide. This is release when they are burnt so planting more trees means (not only more fuel in the future) but less co2 in the air.

Trees give out carbon dioxide when they breka down naturally - the same amount as if they were burnt.

Also using wood waste that would otherwise be wasted or sent to the tip is a good way or obtaining wood.

One cubic meter (=approx. 450 kg) of air-dried hardwood has the same heat value as approx. 220 liters of heating oil, 330 kg of brown coal briquettes, or 270 m³ of natural gas.

What can you do with the waste producst? Ash is the major waste product - Pure wood ashes can be used in the garden
