Saving on your food and groceries

How to save money on food

Do you spend a fortune on food?

Saving money on your grocery bills

Would you like to spend lots less on food?

We've got some money saving hints for you on how to cut your shopping bills.

Buy the BOGOFs you know you'll use. When they have good offers on you should take advantage of them. Watch out for things that might be too tempting though - if you buy three packets of biscuits at once will you eat them all quicker?

Buy less of perishables if you can't freeze them. There is no point throwing away food, and we in the UK throw away a massive amount of food every year - nearly a third of the food we buy.

If your store has a loyalty card then use it! Sometimes the points are better redemed in store against your shopping than saving up for the offers they have - but you should always read all the bumf and offers that come with the cards as some deal are very good and you can get free entry and discounts on places.

Tesco have their clubcard. Sainsburys have a reward card.

Free food and wine vouchers

Save money when you treat yourself - make sure you use money saving offers for getting the best deals on food and drink. Cut out coupons from the paper and magazines when you see them - and put them somewhere safe. There is no point cutting them out if you then go and lose them.

Remember to take the vouchers with you when you go shopping.
