Renewable Energy

Summer too hot?

Try Solar Air conditioning - http://www.solcool.net/
This has to make sense - don't use expensive (and ever more expensive!) electricity when you can use a solar powered machine to do the cooling.
I think this should be the most sensible way of getting cool.

July 27/7/6 - London has had power problems today in places because of the intense demand from Air conditioning.
Its been such a heatwave I'm not suprised but it is time we did something about using electricity in such a wasteful way.

More and more people are becoming interested in renewable energy as gas and oil prices constaly rise and supplies are threatened by natural events like the hurricanes in america.

It makes sense to try and use renewable energy. Making adjustments to your life to use less and use a fully renewable source means you're cuasing the plent less harm.

Some of the renewable energy sources are more available than others - sunshine seems precarious sometimes but you can find out about solar heating and hot water as well as solar electricity.

There are apparently 50,000 solar hot water systems in the UK but only about 1000 solar electric systems. This is a completely shamefull situation!

Wind power is also available domestically as well as big windfarm and we have to decide now whether we want wind power farms or nuclear power plants to supply our electricity. I know which I'd prefer.

Heat pumps extract heat from the ground made it into the news with the news that the Queen is investing in this technology to heat Buckingham Palace! Well done your majesty for leading the way! She's also got a water power system at Windsor!

Wood burning stoves are a simple and effective way of producing heat for your home. There are some amazing stoves out there - style and use wise!

Hydrogen scheme hailed a success - The backers of Europe's first community-owned hydrogen production facility have claimed to be close to making the project viable.
