Wormery

Wormery

WormerySimply pile in your vegetable waste, then worms eat their way up the trays and the bottom tray fills with worm cast compost - suitable for liquid fertiliser and mulch. Easy to review and access. Kit comprises: Can O`Worms housing, coir bedding block, 1,000 native composting worms, 6 litres lime mix, 6 litres worm treat, moisture mat and full instructions.

The can'o'worms is made up of layers of trays. The top lid has ventilation homes. The bottom section is a collection tray and has a tap on it.

You can feed the worms your kitchen scraps and they will turn it into "black gold" - that's worm casts which are amazing for the garden.
Most people know worms are essential for a healthy garden - they eat leaves and other decaying plant matter and turn it into a valuable source of plant food and they aerate the soil too.

In the wormery they work to eat your food waste and turn it into a very useful garden fertiliser. If yuou have 1lb of worms they'll eat three times their bodyweight a week. This will vary according to the temperature - they'll slow down as it gets cooler and you need to protect them from freezing or being too hot.

To get maximum speed out of your worms you need to make sure they're happy - they need management of their temperature, moisture and amount they're fed. If you overpile food in they'll not eat it and it'll rot before they do.

As a successful wormery increases its number of worms you'll be able to increase the amount of food you feed in.

This system will hold several thousand worms. You'll know that they're increasing in number when they eat the food more quickly.

You can use the system indoors or outdoors.

The Can-O-WormsTM is designed for indoor or outdoor use. There shuld be no smell from your womery. If there is then something is going wrong - so you'll need to adjust some part of the system - either remove the excess food or drain liquid from the bottom.
